I haven’t had the chance to go out and take pictures lately. I have just been carrying around my camera hoping for inspiration.  I got a few good shots but, just as I am getting warmed up I have to move on.

Also, my wife just launched a new website. Tiny Frock Shop. She has been using my camera to take photos for her new site. I haven’t had my camera in my hands for about a month now…

I need to start setting aside some time each week to shoot. This collection here are the photos left over on my camera. I think I got some really nice shots here. I hope you enjoy them.

It’s time for me to start with a clean slate for the next collection. Stay tuned.

I have taken so many pictures since I moved to Chicago but, I haven’t been in love with many of them on first look. However, I continuely think back to this picture or that picture and wonder to myself, “hey where did that picture go”. To that end I went thru my Flickr account and searched for my missing pictures. Images that I took that kind of stuck in my head but were never made part of any group or officially shared on my site. So, here they are for your enjoyment.

I have just moved into my new house here in Chicagoland. I took off 2 weeks from work to move in, unpack, clean, fix and generally work on turning my new house into a livable dwelling. During those 2 weeks I was able to take one day for myself and just relax and pretend I was on vacation. Pamela and I went to downtown and took a architecture tours on the Chicago river. It was a beautiful day and I took these pictures from the boat. We were moving pretty fast and rather than try and focus or get fancy with the pictures I just set my camera to auto and snapped away.

The Photos above were picked randomly. I took over 100 pictures and there is no way I can pick out the best. I hope you enjoy this selection and please check out the flickr link above to see the rest of the images.

Lunchtime Lomography

My first photobook is now available at Amazon.

Lunchtime Lomography is a collection of photos taken in and around New York City with the following Lomo Cameras: Belomo Vilia, ColorSplash Chakra, Holga 120N, Holga 135, Smena Symbol, Super Sampler 35mm. I had taken some pictures with a cardboard pinhole camera as well but, they didn’t make it into this book.

Chicago’s Wicker Park is a great neighborhood for a photowalk. These pictures were taken at the same time as the “Forgotten Bikes of Wicker Park” collection. They just took a little longer to get up on the site.

Spent the day wandering around my new home city. While walking around I noticed a ton of rusted old bikes locked to poles. Some look like they are still in use and some look like they are slowly disintegration into dust.

Random wanderings around the burbs. No theme, no photowalk. Just spontaneous picture taking over the last few weeks. There are a few nice shots here, but it’s just hard to describe all the locations and the motivation behind the images. Hopefully you can enjoy them as they are.

Above is a picture from my old Lo-Tech Film Camera Lomography Blog. All but one of the pictures were taken while I lived in NY. With my new site here I don’t see myself updating or maintaining my old LOMO blog. My plan is to leave it as it is and let be.

Everyone in our house is sick this weekend. That means no photowalking for me. We took our daughter to the ER for an ear infection and after dropping her off at home I headed to Walgreens to fill her prescription for antibiotics.

I knew she was home sleeping after her ordeal and I had a few minutes to wait for the prescription to be filled so the alleyway behind Walgreens became my photowalk this weekend. It may have only lasted 15 minutes or so but, at least I got in some shots.

Lily, my daughter is doing fine now by the way.

Around the corner from my sister-in-law’s house is a Vintage shop like no other I have seen. It is also one of Pam’s favorite places of all time.

It’s a huge vintage/antique shop and while passing some time browsing the aisles I took a bunch of pictures. I plan on going back with the intention of doing a proper photo study. The gallery here was a spur of the moment, had my camera with me collection of photographs. I really need to get a better shot of the dude smokin’ a cig.
